Comet observations C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS)

The Institute of Physics, the Opole Branch of the Polish Physical Society and the Opole Society of Friends of Science invite you to the observations of Comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) on October 16, 2024 at 6:15 p.m. and at 7:30 p.m. a lecture by prof. UO, dr hab. Włodzimierz Godłowski entitled: “Will we fly to other astronomical objects or will we fly to the stars?”

Comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) is an extremely interesting astronomical object that is approaching Earth. Discovered in early 2023 by the Zijinshan Astronomical Observatory in China and the ATLAS system, the comet passed close to the Sun in late September, which contributed to its significant increase in brightness. It is currently visible to the naked eye and will be best observed from October 12 to October 19, 2024. C/2023 A3 comes from the Oort Cloud, which contains many rocky and icy objects. It is best viewed from October 12 to 19, 2024 for about 1-1.5 hours after sunset.
